Bang Bang Games debuts ULTRAHITZ mechanic with Lucha-themed slot on YGG Masters

Bang Bang Games launched Chilli Champions ULTRAHITZ on 25 September 2024, distributed exclusively via Yggdrasil’s YGG Masters partner programme. The lucha libre-themed slot pits wrestling characters against each other and offers a maximum win of 8,099x stake.

The release marks the debut of Bang Bang Games’ new ULTRAHITZ mechanic, alongside two further bonus features, Jackpot Chillis Respins Rumble and Fight Night Free Spins.

How ULTRAHITZ works

Players collect Golden Chilli symbols, which can land singly or in groups of two or three, to progress up a ladder that pays cash prizes. Landing five or more chillies across consecutive reels triggers a payout from the ULTRAHITZ ladder. Super Chilli symbols carry Mini, Minor, Major or Grande prize tags and pay out automatically as jackpots when included in a winning combination.

If a qualifying chilli collection includes a respin symbol, all chillies lock in place and three respins begin, with any newly landed chillies also locking and resetting the respin count. A character called The Ghost can appear during respins to collect chillies adjacent to his position, while a Booster symbol doubles prizes on the ULTRAHITZ ladder.

Fight Night Free Spins is triggered by landing three or more bonus symbols, awarding 12 free spins with the possibility of retriggers and an increased likelihood of Golden Chilli symbols appearing.

The game runs on Yggdrasil’s GATI technology, a standardised, regulation-ready development toolkit designed to help partners produce and distribute content quickly.

Zoe Bird, Head of Masters at Yggdrasil, said the ULTRAHITZ mechanic was expected to feature in future releases within the YGG Masters portfolio. Frank McPolin, Managing Director at Bang Bang Games, said the studio was pleased to debut the mechanic in a release he described as packing a punch.

Yggdrasil, founded in 2013, is headquartered in Sweden with an operational hub in Malta and offices in Poland and Gibraltar. The company operates the YGG Masters publishing programme alongside its own game development business.
