Games Global and AreaVegas Games launch Area Link Phoenix Firestorm slot

Games Global’s exclusive studio AreaVegas Games has launched Area Link Phoenix Firestorm, a follow-up to its debut title, on 27th May 2025. The new slot adds two extra collectible eggs, an expanded feature set and a new Phoenix Firestorm mechanic to the original format.

The game features six coloured Phoenix Fireballs, each tied to a different upgrade path. The returning Area Link mechanic sees orbs collected into coloured eggs above the reels when triggered by one or more fireballs, locking all fireballs in place and awarding three respins.

Prizes range from cash sums to jackpots, with a Grand Jackpot of 50,000x available for filling every position on the reels.

New Firestorm mechanic

The central addition is the Phoenix Firestorm feature, which converts the yellow fireball into a phoenix fireball, triggering an Area Link feature with randomised upgrades to boost win potential.

Each coloured fireball carries its own modifier. The orange phoenix applies multipliers of 2x, 3x or 4x to all yellow fireballs, while the red phoenix collects existing prizes before converting into a yellow fireball. The green phoenix adds random prize boosts on each spin, and the blue phoenix increases the value of yellow fireballs. A magenta phoenix duplicates the feature entirely, generating a second Area Link grid and doubling the chances of landing upgrades and winning combinations. Multiple upgrades can also apply simultaneously if more than one coloured phoenix appears on the same spin.

AreaVegas Games was founded by the team behind SpinPlay Games and describes itself as a studio inspired by the aesthetic of Las Vegas, focused on dynamic mechanics and detailed game design.

Rebecca Caruana, Head of Sales at AreaVegas Games, said the studio aimed to go beyond a straightforward sequel, building a feature set intended to evolve alongside player expectations through the addition of six fireball types and multiple upgrade paths.

Andy Booth, Chief Product Officer at Games Global, said the release builds on the success of the original title while adding strategic depth, improved animations and mechanics designed for replayability, adding that early performance data from the game’s exclusive release with partners pointed to strong reception among players and operators.

Games Global operates one of the largest networks of exclusive iGaming content studios, with 42 in-house and partnered studios having produced more than 1,400 proprietary games over the past two decades, spanning slots, table games, video poker, video bingo, progressive jackpots, game shows, crash games and live casino products.
