Games Global and Stormcraft Studios launch Avalon III slot

Games Global has announced the release of Avalon III, a new slot from exclusive partner Stormcraft Studios that revives the studio’s long-running fantasy franchise with updated mechanics and a higher win ceiling.

The 5x4 title is set in a medieval fantasy world and offers win potential of up to 5,000 times stake. Central to the gameplay is a new orb collection system built around three orb types: Free Spins, Jackpot and Magic Orbs, each unlocking a different bonus feature.

Orb mechanics and bonuses

The Magic Orb Bonus starts with five orbs in play, with the count rising as more are collected, up to a cap of 50. Once triggered, the number of orbs collected determines how many instant prizes appear on the reels, including cash rewards and fixed jackpots, with the triggering orb able to carry a win multiplier.

If three or more Magic Orbs land on the first three reels without triggering the bonus, prize values are instead paid out via a Ways Win mechanic, in which Free Spins and Jackpot Orbs act as wild symbols.

Jackpot Orbs increase the value of the Maxi and Mega jackpots and can trigger a separate Jackpot Bonus, where players need to match three orbs to win. The Mini, Minor and Midi jackpots are fixed amounts but can be randomly multiplied by up to three times.

Collecting Free Spins Orbs activates a round of eight free spins, played with five Magic Orbs already active. The feature can retrigger, with each additional Free Spins Orb adding three more spins.

Terence Igesund, executive producer at Stormcraft Studios, said the developer’s history with the earlier Avalon titles made returning to the series a significant undertaking, and that the goal was to respect the franchise’s legacy while introducing new depth through the Magic Orb feature.

Andy Booth, chief product officer at Games Global, described Avalon III as a combination of myth, mystery and modern gameplay design, and said he expects the title to appeal to players internationally.

Games Global operates a network of 42 in-house and partnered studios that have produced more than 1,400 proprietary games over the past two decades, spanning slots, table games, live casino, video bingo and jackpot products. Stormcraft Studios was founded in 2016 by industry veterans previously behind titles including Mega Moolah, the Thunderstruck series and Immortal Romance.
