Pragmatic Play expands sea-themed series with Release the Kraken Megaways

Pragmatic Play, a supplier of content to the iGaming industry, has launched Release the Kraken Megaways, the newest title in its established sea-themed slot series, on 14 October 2024.

The six-reel game offers up to 117,649 ways to win and centres on a kraken wild symbol that moves around the reels. When three or more wilds appear during the base game, a respin is triggered and the wilds relocate to new positions on the grid. Additional wilds extend the respins further, continuing until none remain.

Mystery symbols and no-win boosts

Mystery symbols can also appear in the base game, converting into random paying symbols. On spins that produce no win, symbols may randomly change to guarantee a payout of at least 10 times the stake.

Bonus feature and free spins

Landing three to six golden kraken scatter symbols unlocks the bonus round, with the scatter count determining how many treasure chests players can open before the feature starts. Each chest reveals a modifier that enhances the bonus game, such as extra free spins, an additional roaming wild, a win multiplier, or a guaranteed minimum number of ways to win.

During free spins, any wild that lands becomes sticky for the rest of the round, continuing to roam the reels and shifting position with each spin. When multiple wilds occupy the same spot, a multiplier is added to an overall win multiplier. A scatter landing on the sixth reel awards an extra chest and free spin, with the feature capable of producing wins of up to 10,000 times the stake.

The release follows other recent additions to Pragmatic Play’s slots range, including Wisdom of Athena 1000 and The Dog House Muttley Crew.

Irina Cornides, Chief Operating Officer at Pragmatic Play, said the title builds on a popular game series by combining a wild respin feature in the base game with sticky roaming wilds in the bonus round, offering the potential for wins of up to 10,000x the stake.
