Reflex Gaming has released Big Game Fishing TopHit, a new video slot published through Yggdrasil’s YGG Masters partner scheme. The game moves a fishing-themed title from Reflex’s land-based portfolio into the online space.

The slot runs on a five-reel, three-row layout with 20 paylines and features eight regular fish symbols alongside various bonus mechanics. A central Fisherman symbol collects cash prizes from fish symbols on the main reels when it lands fully on the game’s TopHit reel set, combining them into a single payout.

Features and mechanics

Wild symbols that appear on the TopHit reels build multipliers, ranging from x2 to x5, which apply to wins involving those wilds. When a high-paying symbol lands fully visible on the TopHit reels, it converts matching symbols on the main reels into wilds, with multiple matching instances triggering the multiplier effect.

The bonus round activates a Free Spins mode regardless of where the triggering symbol lands. Players can choose to bank their current Free Spins total or gamble it for a chance at more, in an all-or-nothing mechanic. The title also includes a Golden Bet option and a buy-bonus feature, with a maximum win potential of 5,000 times the stake.

Comments

Zoe Bird, Head of Masters at Yggdrasil, said the game combines mechanics popular in land-based venues with a fishing theme, supported by its soundtrack and visual design.

Mat Ingram, Chief Product Officer at Reflex Gaming, said the land-based version of the game had outperformed the company’s previous best-selling title, and described the online release as reflecting Reflex’s approach to balancing playability and volatility for players.

The release was issued by Reflex Gaming and Yggdrasil, distributed via Square in the Air Communications.
