SpinOn releases horror-themed slot Book of Evil via Yggdrasil

SpinOn, a studio operating under Yggdrasil’s YG Masters programme, has released Book of Evil, a horror-themed slot set in an ancient graveyard. The game was announced on 18th September 2024 and is the studio’s second release following August’s Gates of Thunder.

Book of Evil offers players the chance to win up to 5,000 times their stake through a mechanic based on randomly expanding symbols. At the start of each base game spin, standard paying symbols can expand to create winning combinations, with Book symbols acting as both scatter and wild.

Free spins feature

Landing three or more Book symbols during base gameplay triggers 10 free spins, during which a randomly chosen special symbol expands across the reels for the duration of the feature, in keeping with the conventions of book-style slots. Players also have the option to buy directly into the free spins bonus for 100 times their stake, which instantly awards 10 free spins.

The game runs on Yggdrasil’s GATI technology, a standardised, regulation-ready development toolkit designed to let studio partners produce and distribute content quickly and consistently.

Zoe Bird, Head of Masters at Yggdrasil, said the horror theme combined with the established book-game format created a strong player experience, adding that the partnership with SpinOn was still in its early stages but already producing strong content that the company expects to perform well.

SpinOn’s marketing team said the studio had aimed to make an impact with a heavily themed book game intended to stand apart from typical slot releases.

Yggdrasil, founded in 2013, is headquartered in Sweden with additional offices in Malta, Poland and Gibraltar. The company operates the YG Masters programme alongside its GATI technology platform and BOOST promotional toolset.
