UAE Lottery Pays Out Second AED 1 Million Prize to Dubai-Based Resident
Filipino long-term UAE resident Beauregard Lim has become the UAE Lottery's second millionaire winner, scooping AED 1 million in the draw announced on 20 March 2025.
The UAE Lottery has confirmed its second million-dirham winner since launch, with Manila-born, Dubai-based resident Beauregard Lim taking home AED 1 million. Lim, who has lived in the UAE since 2004 and works in the cargo and logistics sector, said he discovered the lottery through social media before deciding to enter.
Lim described the win as a turning point after a period of financial pressure, saying he plans to use part of the winnings to help fund a business for his son and to support his family, whom he had previously struggled to assist financially. He said the prize had eased years of financial stress and allowed him to keep a promise to his mother to always help relatives in need when possible.
Operator reaction
Bishop Woosley, Director of Lottery at The Game LLC, the operator behind the UAE Lottery, congratulated Lim and said the company remained committed to creating positive experiences for players while continuing to grow the game.
Lim also urged other players to approach the lottery responsibly, saying spending should only come from disposable income and that family needs should take priority.
Responsible gambling and next steps
The UAE Lottery said it continues to promote responsible gaming through player education tools and awareness resources, encouraging informed participation. The next draw is scheduled for 22 March 2025, with tickets available through the operator’s website.
The UAE Lottery is the UAE’s first federally licensed lottery and the first of its kind in the Gulf region, regulated by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA). It is operated by The Game LLC, part of the Momentum Group in Abu Dhabi, which was appointed as the official licensed operator of the UAE Lottery in July 2024. Participation is restricted to residents aged 18 and above.
Alongside the main draw, the operator offers eight scratch card products with entry prices ranging from AED 5 to AED 50 and top prizes of up to AED 1 million.
