Altenar to power sportsbook for Czech operator MerkurXtip
Sportsbook technology provider Altenar has agreed a deal to supply its fully-managed sportsbook solution to Czech operator MerkurXtip, replacing the operator's existing betting product.
Altenar, a sports betting and iGaming software provider, has signed an agreement to supply its fully-managed sportsbook solution to Czech operator MerkurXtip, the companies announced on 3 March 2025.
The deal will see Altenar’s technology replace the current sportsbook product on MerkurXtip’s website, merkurxtip.cz, with the aim of improving the betting experience for players and supporting the operator’s retention and revenue goals.
MerkurXtip is the Czech online arm of the Merkur brand, previously known as the Gauselmann Group, which traces its roots back to 1957. The MerkurXtip CZ brand launched in 2022 and offers more than 600 slot titles alongside sports betting across a broad range of events.
Expanding Czech presence
The agreement builds on Altenar’s growing footprint in the Czech market, where it entered in 2024. The company already has ongoing partnerships with local operators Kingsbet CZ and DATA.BET.
Sam Hill, Sales Director at Altenar, said the Merkur Group’s industry heritage made the partnership significant, adding that being chosen to support the brand in the Czech market reflected the strength of Altenar’s product and service across regulated markets.
Stanislav Sopko, CEO of MerkurXtip CZ, described the tie-up as the start of a long-term collaboration, saying the two companies would combine their expertise to improve offerings and drive innovation for players in the Czech market.
Altenar was founded in 2011 and positions itself as a turnkey sportsbook provider focused on tailoring solutions for different markets and partners.
