Betano Backs Legends Charity Game Ahead of SBC Summit in Lisbon

Betano, the sports betting and gaming brand owned by Kaizen Gaming, has become Supporting Charity Partner of the Legends Charity Game, a football fixture bringing together former professional players to raise money for charity.

The match is scheduled for Monday 15 September at Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon, home of Sporting CP, and takes place shortly before the SBC Summit. Organisers expect a crowd of around 50,000 and are aiming to raise €1 million.

The fixture will pit a Portugal Legends side, including Luis Figo, Ricardo Quaresma and Deco, against a World Legends team featuring Kaká, Cafu and Carles Puyol among others. Funds raised will be split between four organisations: Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa, Caritas Portugal, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society and International Alert, which will use the money to support communities facing hardship.

Betano’s involvement

Betano’s backing forms part of its broader social responsibility efforts in Portugal, where it has previously run the Heróis Betano programme and helped fund a sensory room at FC Porto’s Dragão Stadium. Panos Konstantopoulos, Kaizen Gaming’s Corporate Affairs Senior Director, said the partnership reflected the company’s view that sport can be a vehicle for community impact, describing the fixture as bringing together football icons for a cause beyond the game itself.

The match will receive broadcast coverage across Europe, with production values described as comparable to Champions League fixtures, including multiple camera angles and spider cams.

Annual fixture tied to SBC Summit

The Legends Charity Game is organised by Sport Global and is planned to run annually until 2030 alongside the SBC Summit, the industry event covering betting, gaming, technology, payments and marketing run by Sport Global’s sister company. Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and Founder of SBC & Sport Global, said the event’s high profile presented an opportunity to generate awareness and funding for the participating charities, and welcomed Betano’s involvement as Supporting Charity Partner.

Tickets for the fixture are on sale from €10 for adults and €6 for children, with premium tickets priced at €54 for adults and €27 for children under 12. Donations can also be made separately online. Proceeds are administered through the Sport Global Charitable Foundation, a restricted fund under Prism the Gift Fund, a UK-registered charity.
