BetVictor names Tracy McGrady as Canada safer gambling ambassador
BVGroup has appointed former NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady as Safer Gambling Ambassador for its BetVictor brand in Canada.
BVGroup announced on 23 October 2024 that it has signed seven-time NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady as Safer Gambling Ambassador in Canada for its flagship BetVictor brand.
McGrady spent 16 years in the NBA, playing for the Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks and San Antonio Spurs. He remains particularly popular with Canadian fans following his partnership with cousin Vince Carter at the Raptors during the 1999/2000 season.
Role focused on responsible gambling
As part of the partnership, McGrady will help promote safer gambling messaging to BetVictor’s Canadian customers. The operator says it provides a range of tools and services designed to support responsible betting and casino play in the market.
McGrady said he was pleased to continue his relationship with BVGroup in the new ambassador role, describing safer gambling as an important issue in Canada and saying he looked forward to encouraging customers to bet and play responsibly.
Brent Almeida, chief commercial officer at BVGroup, said the company was pleased to have signed McGrady, calling him a strong role model given his NBA career and describing the partnership as a good fit for the BetVictor brand.
