Games Global's Switch Studios launches coin-flip title Shields of Asgard
Switch Studios, Games Global's exclusive partner, has released Flippin' Awesome Shields of Asgard, a new instant win game expanding the Of Asgard series with customisable coin-flipping mechanics.
Games Global has announced the launch of Flippin’ Awesome Shields of Asgard, a new instant win game developed by exclusive partner Switch Studios, released on 24th February 2025.
The title is the latest addition to Games Global’s Innovative Products portfolio and extends the Norse mythology-themed Of Asgard brand, following earlier releases Gods of Asgard Megaways, Gates of Asgard Power Combo and Cards of Asgard All Aces. Unlike those titles, the new game adopts arcade-style, coin-flip gameplay.
How the game works
Players must predict how many shields will land face up during play. Before placing a bet, they can use sliders to set both the total number of shields in play and how many of those they expect to land face up, giving them control over the risk and reward on offer.
Selecting a single shield and correctly predicting it will land face up carries a 50% probability of winning, with a payout of 1.9x the stake. At the other end of the scale, choosing the maximum of 10 shields and correctly calling all 10 to land face up offers win potential of up to 983x.
Part of a wider portfolio push
The release follows Switch Studios’ earlier title Wheel of Winners Link&Win and adds to Games Global’s broader Innovative Products range, which also includes crash games, instant bingo and video poker titles.
Tom David, Head of Switch Studios, said the game reflects a shift towards more casual, arcade-style products, adding that its customisation options and fast-paced gameplay were designed to appeal to players’ evolving preferences.
Andy Booth, Chief Product Officer at Games Global, said Switch Studios continues to combine established brands with new product formats, describing the new release as evidence of that approach within the company’s wider portfolio strategy.
Games Global operates a network of 42 in-house and partnered studios, which the company says have produced more than 1,400 proprietary games over the past two decades, spanning slots, table games, video poker, video bingo, progressive jackpots, game shows, crash games and live casino products.
