Genius Sports Signs Exclusive Serie A Data and Streaming Deal Through 2029
Genius Sports has agreed an exclusive multi-year partnership with Lega Serie A to distribute official data and betting video streams from Italy's top football competitions to sportsbooks worldwide.
Genius Sports Limited has struck an exclusive agreement with Lega Serie A covering official data and low-latency betting video streaming rights through the 2028/29 season, the company announced on 4 August 2025.
Under the deal, Genius Sports becomes the sole authorised distributor of official data and international streaming rights for betting operators across every Serie A, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana fixture. The company will also gain access to Lega Serie A tracking data for media purposes, supporting broadcast augmentation, match reports and analysis content.
BetVision expansion
The agreement is expected to strengthen Genius Sports’ BetVision platform, described as an interactive live betting product that lets bettors watch matches, view stats overlays and place bets within a single viewing interface. BetVision was first launched with the NFL in the US market. Low-latency streaming from Serie A matches will be made available to sportsbooks outside Italy through the platform.
The Serie A rights add to Genius Sports’ existing portfolio, which includes the Premier League and France’s Ligue 1. The two organisations said they would also work together on anti-infringement measures aimed at ensuring only verified, official data is used commercially, in an effort to protect league revenue and maintain data integrity.
Executive comment
Luigi de Siervo, chief executive of Lega Serie A, said the agreement ensures that only verified official data is commercialised, which he described as protecting fans, preserving integrity and defending revenue for clubs. He added that the deal represented a call to lawmakers to support the rights of leagues and the safety of bettors.
Mark Locke, chief executive of Genius Sports, said the Serie A agreement, combined with the company’s existing NFL and Premier League rights, gave Genius Sports what he called the most valuable rights portfolio in global sports betting. He said the company expected to update its financial guidance to reflect the commercial impact of the deal.
