Signicat Teams Up With AsiaVerify to Boost APAC Identity Verification
Digital identity specialist Signicat has partnered with AsiaVerify to expand its cross-border verification and compliance capabilities across the Asia-Pacific region.
Signicat, the pan-European digital identity and fraud prevention provider, has announced a partnership with AsiaVerify, a specialist in APAC-region data, to strengthen its verification services in Asia-Pacific markets.
Announced on 26 November 2024 in London, the deal adds AsiaVerify as the first APAC-specific data provider in Signicat’s network of trusted sources. AsiaVerify offers real-time access to official data across key APAC markets, including China and Singapore, which will allow Signicat’s clients to verify individuals and companies operating across borders.
Addressing regulatory complexity
The partnership is aimed at helping businesses navigate the regulatory requirements and local registry systems that can complicate expansion into or out of the APAC region. AsiaVerify’s tools support Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) checks, as well as identification of Ultimate Beneficial Ownership for companies across Asia.
Pinar Alpay, Chief Product and Marketing Officer at Signicat, said the partnership reflects the company’s focus on secure, compliant digital identity verification on a global scale, adding that it gives clients access to more localised data to support expansion into the APAC market while meeting regional and global compliance standards.
Joanna Wands, Head of UK and Europe at AsiaVerify, said the two companies shared a commitment to tackling the regulatory challenges businesses face when expanding into Asia, describing the partnership as a strong strategic fit.
Supporting cross-border expansion
Signicat said the collaboration is designed to support companies expanding operations between APAC and Europe, offering a single platform for managing identity verification and fraud prevention across different regulatory environments.
Founded in 2006, Signicat provides a digital identity platform covering the full identity lifecycle, from onboarding and authentication to binding business agreements. The company was acquired by Nordic Capital in 2019 and employs more than 450 people across 17 European offices.
