Thunderkick adds Greek mythology slot Ways of Athena to portfolio
Thunderkick has released Ways of Athena, a Greek mythology-themed slot offering up to 43,923 ways to win and a maximum payout of 25,000x stake.
Independent slots studio Thunderkick has launched Ways of Athena, a new Greek mythology-themed slot title, on 11th December 2024. The 3x5 game centres on the goddess Athena and features symbols including helmets, shields, amphoras and lyres.
The title uses a mechanic in which mystery symbols landing on reels two to five can transform into double symbols and mirror an icon on reel one, increasing the number of active pay ways. At maximum, the game offers 43,923 ways to win.
Bonus features and win potential
Landing three scatter symbols triggers a bonus round starting with eight free spins, with each extra scatter adding two more spins. If mystery symbols match a scatter on reel one, they split into double symbols, giving players the chance to reach up to 44 free spins.
During the bonus round, matching mystery orbs collect in an on-screen meter. Every five orbs gathered increases the pay ways linked to mystery symbols, up to a maximum of five, and awards two additional free spins. The mechanic is designed to build toward a maximum win of 25,000 times the stake.
Part of a wider mythology range
Ways of Athena joins other mythology-themed titles in Thunderkick’s catalogue, including Sword of Khans, Odin’s Gamble, and the Midas Golden Touch series.
Johannes Polbring, Game Product Owner at Thunderkick, said the matching mystery symbol mechanic, which can split two, three or five ways, was designed to increase both win potential and free spin opportunities, adding that the combination of gameplay and the Greek mythology theme was intended to strengthen the studio’s content offering for operator partners.
Thunderkick is a Stockholm-based casino game studio founded in 2012, employing more than 80 people in-house. Its titles are distributed via its own Remote Gaming Server to operators including Bet365, William Hill, LeoVegas, 888 Casino, Mr Green, PokerStars Casino, ComeOn, Unibet and Betsson.
