Sportsbook technology supplier Altenar has launched a version of its Bet Builder product adapted to comply with Italian betting regulations.

Altenar tailors Bet Builder tool for Italy's regulated betting market

Altenar, a sports betting and iGaming software provider, has released a customised version of its Bet Builder feature for the Italian market, dated 11 February 2025.

The company said the product has been adjusted to fit Italy’s regulatory framework, allowing its operator partners in the country to offer the feature while staying compliant.

How it works

Bet Builder lets bettors combine several markets from a single sporting event into one wager, with each selection priced independently. This allows customers to build bespoke bets with boosted odds and the possibility of larger returns.

The tool is most widely used in football, where it covers markets including match result, correct score, total goals, corners, cards and player-specific props. Altenar said the format lets bettors concentrate on the markets most relevant to them, which the company believes helps improve customer retention.

Altenar plans to extend Bet Builder to major US sports, including basketball’s NBA, American football’s NFL, ice hockey’s NHL and baseball’s MLB, in due course.

Data and risk management

To support the feature, Altenar uses data feeds intended to widen the range of available markets and speed up odds updates. The company also pointed to its trading support and risk management systems, which it said are designed to monitor Bet Builder activity and protect operators from the financial exposure linked to high-payout combinations.

Comment

Francesco Papallo, Altenar’s Regional Director for Italy, said the company has spent several years developing Bet Builder for use across multiple markets and had been keen to bring it to Italian operators as a way to support player retention. He added that the launch reflects Altenar’s positioning as a technology partner focused on long-term partnerships and ongoing growth.
