Genius Sports rolls out BetVision for Soccer to sportsbook partners

Genius Sports Limited (NYSE:GENI) has launched BetVision for Soccer, billed as the first interactive in-game wagering product built for football. The product went live on 1 May and is immediately available to the company’s global network of sportsbook partners.

The launch combines Genius Sports’ existing football portfolio with a new content partnership with Infront Bettor, giving sportsbooks access to live video and data across more than 120 competitions. These include France’s Ligue 1, the Dutch Eredivisie, Brazil’s Série A, Turkey’s Süper Lig and UEFA Champions League qualifying matches.

How it works

BetVision uses artificial intelligence to layer data-driven insights and storytelling elements, such as player identification and personalised bet tracking, onto live broadcast footage. A feature called Touch-to-Bet lets viewers tap on a player within the live stream to bring up that player’s specific betting markets. The tool also allows fans to customise how they view the game, with all functions built into a single interactive video player.

Track record in the NFL

BetVision was first introduced in 2023 for NFL coverage, where Genius Sports says it became the first fully immersive sports wagering product of its kind. Early adopters in the US included DraftKings, FanDuel and Caesars Entertainment, which used the technology to combine live data, flexible viewing options and in-play betting for NFL audiences.

Industry reaction

Mark Locke, chief executive of Genius Sports, described the football launch as marking a new phase for interactive betting and fan engagement, saying it merges live streaming, real-time data and in-game wagering into a single platform.

Chris Catling, head of Infront Bettor, said the partnership fits with his organisation’s focus on fan engagement and immersive betting streams, adding that it builds on previous innovations such as real-time streaming and instant highlights.
