Kindred hands Middlesbrough shirt sponsorship to club's Foundation for charity weekend
Principal partner Kindred is giving up its front-of-shirt branding on Middlesbrough FC's kit for the match against Hull City to spotlight the work of the MFC Foundation.
Kindred, the principal sponsor of Middlesbrough FC, is donating its front-of-shirt advertising space for the club’s Foundation Weekend, timed to coincide with the fixture against Hull City on Saturday 30 November.
The Unibet logo and Kindred’s Zero% Mission responsible gambling message, which usually appear on the first team’s shirts, will be replaced this weekend to draw attention to the Middlesbrough FC Foundation’s community work across Teesside.
The Foundation supports young people and adults in the region, helping to raise aspirations and improve life chances. Its activities are backed in part by funding from the club’s commercial partners, including Kindred.
Mental health support through football
As part of its wider partnership with the club, Kindred backs the Foundation’s ‘Think With Your Feet’ initiative, a programme giving local men the opportunity to play football together while discussing mental health in a supportive setting. Earlier in the season, Middlesbrough player Isaiah Jones met participants from the scheme to discuss mental health and the benefits of the programme.
Long-running partnership
Kindred’s sponsorship deal with Middlesbrough began in 2018 and is set to continue until at least 2027, making it one of the longest-standing sponsorship arrangements in English football. The club says Kindred remains the only operator to feature a responsible gambling message alongside its brand on front-of-shirt sponsorship.
Sam Mead, UK General Manager at Kindred, said the partnership with Middlesbrough and its Foundation was long-standing and valued, and that the company was proud to support the Foundation’s community work. He encouraged supporters who might benefit from the club’s outreach programmes to get in touch via the MFC Foundation website.
