Lightning Box launches jungle-themed slot Thundering Tiger

Light & Wonder has confirmed the launch of Thundering Tiger, a new online slot from its Lightning Box studio, going live on 5 February 2025. The title is the fifth in the company’s Thundering series and is themed around jungle predators.

The game runs on a 3x5 reel grid with 243 ways to win. Its key feature is an Upgraded Respins mechanic, which adds a second 3x5 reel grid to boost payout potential. Respins are triggered when six or more Lightning Bolt symbols land, with lightning strikes activating dynamic reel zones that pay instant prizes. Landing an additional Lightning Bolt within the active zone resets the respin counter to three.

Jackpots and free games

Colossal Lightning Bolts can also appear during respins, splitting into individual symbols to increase prizes further. This mechanic ties into the Thundering series’ linked Progressive Major and Grand Jackpots.

A Free Games round is unlocked by landing three or more Scatter Ruby symbols, awarding 8, 15 or 30 free spins depending on the number of scatters triggered. Colossal 2x2 and 3x3 symbols can appear during this round to increase winnings, and the feature can be retriggered.

The game combines its jungle setting with a dedicated soundtrack and nighttime visuals. Thundering Tiger is currently available exclusively through DraftKings in New Jersey, Michigan and Ontario.
