OpenSlots launches AI platform aimed at speeding up slot game development
New AI-driven creative platform OpenSlots has debuted internally at ESA Gaming, with a commercial launch planned for mid-2026 to let non-technical teams design and publish slot titles.
OpenSlots, a newly unveiled AI platform for game development, has entered the market with the aim of helping operators, studios and developers produce bespoke slot titles more quickly. The platform was announced on 22 September and is currently being used internally by the executive team behind content aggregator and slot studio ESA Gaming.
The tool applies artificial intelligence to game creation, with the stated goal of removing technical barriers so that non-specialist staff can design, test and publish compliant slot games. According to OpenSlots, users will be able to input parameters such as theme, mechanics, reel matrix and RTP, after which the system generates a game design document and concept art, before allowing further edits within a game editor.
Commercial rollout planned for 2026
A public commercial version of OpenSlots is scheduled for release in mid-2026. Once live, customers will reportedly gain access to ESA Gaming’s distribution network, which spans more than 160 operators across regulated markets, intended to support faster deployment of new titles to players.
OpenSlots said its future product roadmap includes plans for more than 20 game types, multilingual functionality and support for over 100 currencies as part of a broader push into international markets.
Executive comment
Thomas Smallwood, chief commercial officer at OpenSlots, described the platform as an attempt to make slot creation more accessible to non-technical professionals while allowing operators and studios to produce content independently. He also pointed to the integration with ESA Gaming’s Game Aggregation System as a way of linking content creation directly with distribution.
The announcement was issued by OpenSlots via communications agency Square in the Air.
