Independent slots developer Thunderkick has gone live in Colombia through a new partnership with Luckia, a licensed operator in the country.

The agreement makes Colombia the second Latin American market Thunderkick has entered this year, following a previously announced tie-up with RushBet in Mexico.

Luckia has operated in Colombia since receiving a licence from regulator Coljuegos in 2018, two years after the country legalised online gambling.

Game portfolio and regional strategy

Under the deal, Luckia’s players will gain access to a selection of Thunderkick titles, including Xterminate, Midas Golden Touch 2 and 12 Bolts of Thunder. The move follows plans set out by Thunderkick earlier in the year to strengthen its position in Europe while expanding further into North and South America.

Mariam Dadosh, Account Manager at Thunderkick, said expansion into regulated Latin American markets remained a key part of the company’s commercial strategy, describing the Colombia launch as evidence of its push into new jurisdictions. She added that Luckia was a trusted operator in the market and that the partnership would help support its aim of delivering a strong player experience.

Eloy Fernandez, Head of Product at Luckia, said the operator was looking forward to offering its players Thunderkick’s portfolio, noting the studio’s decade-long track record of producing distinctive, immersive titles. He said Luckia regularly updates its game offering with content from leading providers and expected players to respond well to Thunderkick’s titles.

Thunderkick, founded in Stockholm in 2012, now employs more than 80 staff and develops content in-house for distribution via its own remote gaming server. Its titles are used by operators including Bet365, William Hill, LeoVegas, 888 Casino, Mr Green, PokerStars Casino, ComeOn, Unibet and Betsson.
