Total Performance Data secures debt facility from Beach Point Capital UK
Horse racing data provider TPD has agreed a flexible debt facility with Beach Point Capital UK to fund further expansion of its data science and horse tracking operations.
Total Performance Data (TPD), which describes itself as the world’s leading provider of live horse racing data, announced on 10th April 2025 that it has secured a flexible debt facility from BPC UK Lending DAC, trading as Beach Point Capital UK.
Beach Point Capital UK focuses on growth lending to high-growth SMEs in the UK, offering capital for expansion, acquisitions and management buyouts without requiring equity dilution. The lender’s existing knowledge of the sports data sector was cited as a key factor in the deal. TPD and Beach Point were connected through the FundFlow.AI venture debt platform, which distributed the company’s credentials to more than 80 funds.
TPD said it has grown revenue by more than 40% annually in recent years, and that the new funding will support continued investment across the business, particularly in its data science and machine learning capabilities.
Investment in In Play AI and tracking network
The company recently released an updated version of its In Play AI model, which it said has generated over £50 million in new in-play turnover for operators including Entain, William Hill, Sky Bet, Bet Victor and Boylesports. TPD said the latest iteration of the model uses less than 1% of the computing resources required by its predecessor and can be retrained significantly faster.
Funding will also go towards expanding TPD’s sensor fusion technology as it scales up horse tracking, which currently spans 14 countries and around 7,000 horses a week. The company added 28 new racetracks in 2024, with a further six added in the first quarter of 2025. TPD’s workforce has grown to more than 25 full-time staff, with over 100 people involved in operating its systems globally each week.
Executive comment
Will Duff Gordon, chief executive of TPD, said the company was pleased to partner with Beach Point Capital UK, praising the lender’s swift decision-making and understanding of TPD’s business, and noting that the FundFlow.AI platform had helped streamline the fundraising process.
Seth Vaughan of Beach Point Capital UK said TPD had built a strong position in the sports data market through its work with racing industry partners, and that the firm was pleased to support the company’s next growth phase.
George Van Dorp of FundFlow.AI said TPD, as a global leader in real-time horse racing telematics, had drawn strong interest from venture lenders in the UK and internationally, and that its platform had matched the company with a suitable partner in Beach Point given its sector experience and international reach.
