Yggdrasil and 4ThePlayer launch 7x7 Thor slot sequel

Yggdrasil has launched 7x7 Thor, developed by 4ThePlayer, as the sequel to the previously released 7x7 Zeus title. The slot swaps its Greek mythology theme for Norse gods, with Thor now the central character.

The game begins on a 5x5 grid that can expand by a row or column, up to a maximum 7x7 layout, whenever a lightning symbol appears during a spin. Players need seven matching symbols to secure a win, with cascading symbols replacing winning combinations as they occur.

A key feature sees Thor raise his hammer, Mjölnir, to trigger a multiplier that doubles with each consecutive win until no further wins are possible. The final multiplier value is then applied to all tumbling wins from that spin.

Bonus features and Buy Options

Landing three scatter symbols activates a bonus round in which the multiplier carries over between spins rather than resetting. The title also offers three separate Buy Feature options, covering free spins, a guaranteed multiplier, and a guaranteed multiplier of at least 10x.

7x7 Thor runs on Yggdrasil’s GATI technology, a development framework designed to give partners access to a standardised, regulation-ready toolkit for producing and distributing games.

Zoe Bird, Head of Masters at Yggdrasil, said the title combines the pays-anywhere mechanic with 4ThePlayer’s design approach, adding that it broadens the range of styles and themes available through the YGG Masters programme.

Henry McLean, Co-Founder, Commercial & Marketing at 4ThePlayer, said the studio had seen strong player response to 7x7 Zeus and wanted to build on that with the new title, which adds a side bet aimed at increasing bonus chances alongside the new guaranteed-minimum-multiplier Buy Feature.

Yggdrasil, founded in 2013, is headquartered in Malta with a development studio in Poland. The company was named Best Slots Provider at the 2024 AskGamblers Awards. 4ThePlayer.com describes itself as a challenger-brand game supplier focused on high-volatility mechanics and big-win potential.
