Yggdrasil strikes deal with Lebanon's sole licensed operator BetArabia
Yggdrasil has agreed a content partnership with BetArabia, the only licensed online casino operator in Lebanon, marking the supplier's entry into the country.
Yggdrasil has signed a commercial agreement with BetArabia, giving the operator access to its slot portfolio as the supplier extends its presence in the MENA region.
Under the deal, BetArabia customers will gain access to Yggdrasil’s slot catalogue, including its Vikings and Golden Fish Tank franchises. The agreement also brings in third-party content distributed through Yggdrasil’s YGG Masters programme, which aggregates titles from 13 boutique studios.
Sole licensed operator
BetArabia operates as the digital arm of Casino Du Liban and holds a monopoly position in Lebanon, having been awarded a licence covering both sports betting and iGaming by the country’s Ministry of Finance in 2022.
The tie-up is the latest in a series of commercial agreements Yggdrasil has struck in recent weeks as part of its wider push to grow its footprint in regulated markets globally.
Executive comment
Jose Kadala, Commercial Director at Yggdrasil, described the deal as the company’s first move into the Lebanese market, adding that the MENA region represents a growth opportunity for its game portfolio.
Olga Degtiareva, Client Success Manager at Yggdrasil, said the company’s titles would complement BetArabia’s existing catalogue as the sole licensed operator in the market.
Tigran Geghamyan, Chief Operational Officer at BetArabia, said the partnership was intended to raise standards for online gaming in the region by combining Yggdrasil’s content with the operator’s local market knowledge.
