Abelson Sports hires two former Sky Bet traders to expand football team

Abelson Sports announced on 5th August 2025 that it has added Mikey Mumford and Richard Evison to its trading team as Senior Football Traders. The pair bring a combined total of more than 35 years of trading experience and are expected to support the company’s growth in football player props and stats-based betting markets.

Mumford joins after more than a decade at Sky Bet, where he contributed to the development of the operator’s football offering, including its RequestABet and BuildABet products, and worked on its EFL sponsorship strategy.

Evison spent 25 years at Sky Bet and its predecessor Surrey Sports, during which he led pre-match and ante-post football trading and helped develop the operator’s transfer, manager and match stats markets.

Strengthening trading infrastructure

Abelson Sports said the appointments would reinforce its global trading infrastructure as it continues to build out its ODDS, DATA and TECH divisions amid rising demand from tier-one operators for pricing solutions.

Jeevan Jeyaratnam, Chief Betting Officer at Abelson Sports, said the pair’s experience in building and managing player props at Sky Bet would benefit both internal teams and customers as the company scales its football props offering.

Mumford said he had worked alongside Abelson in various capacities for over a decade and pointed to growth opportunities in same-game multiples and player prop markets. Evison said he was looking forward to bringing his industry experience into a new environment at Abelson.

Founded in 2003, Abelson Sports supplies sports data, odds and technology services to bookmakers, platform providers and media organisations worldwide.
