BGaming donates €10,000 to Lisbon youth arts and nature scheme
iGaming content provider BGaming has funded a biodiversity and filmmaking education programme for children in Lisbon run by The European Intercultural Club.
BGaming has given €10,000 to The European Intercultural Club, a Lisbon-based non-profit focused on youth education, training and employability, the company announced on 17 October 2024.
The donation, made over the summer, was used partly for repairs to the club’s premises and its wider organisational needs, with the remainder funding a new children’s skills programme called Urban Nature Project - A Macro Story.
Combining nature and filmmaking
The scheme is designed to help students engage with their urban surroundings through a mix of disciplines, blending nature observation with cinema and audiovisual production. Participants will take part in nature walks before working with Portuguese cinematic artist Gonçalo Almeida to learn basic filmmaking skills such as narrative construction, filming and editing. The aim is to build environmental awareness, creative ability and stronger links between the school, the local community and the natural environment.
Almeida, who started his career as a film director in Portugal, has gone on to become a recognised figure in fantasy cinema, with credits including Faz-Me Companhia, The Girl from Saturn and The Advent.
Third charitable initiative this year
The Lisbon project is the third community-focused donation made by BGaming in 2024, following earlier contributions to a Brazilian art institute and a youth chess centre in Poland, both timed around major industry events.
Marina Ostrovtsova, chief executive of BGaming, said creativity plays an important role in children’s development and that the company was keen to support causes that encourage it, alongside its own focus on producing creative gaming content.
Ana Quintela, general coordinator at The European Intercultural Club, said the donation had arrived at a useful time, enabling the organisation to run a cinema workshop project aligned with the needs of the local community.
BGaming is an iGaming content provider whose games are featured on more than 1,600 online casinos worldwide. The studio says it was the first in the sector to support cryptocurrency payments and offer Provably Fair games, and its portfolio now includes more than 150 products.
