Hungrybear teams up with Yggdrasil for customisable Merlin's Beard slot

Hungrybear, a YGG Masters partner of Yggdrasil, has released Merlin’s Beard, a slot title built around a customisable bonus feature that allows players to select their preferred mix of free spins and modifiers.

The bonus round offers five choices: five free spins paired with a Colossal Wild, 10 free spins with Random Wilds, 15 free spins with a Colossal Symbol, or 20 free spins with a multiplier. A Mystery Choice option is also available, which randomly allocates a combination of free spins and modifier.

Base game modifiers

Modifiers can also trigger during the base game at the start of any spin. These include up to nine wild symbols appearing in random positions, a Colossal or Colossal Wild symbol landing on the reels, or a multiplier of between 2x and 20x being applied, all designed to boost potential wins.

Merlin’s Beard marks Hungrybear’s fifth release under the YGG Masters partnership, following earlier titles including Riches of Olympus, Mystic Magic and Mayan Temple Riches. The game runs on GATI, Yggdrasil’s development toolkit that provides partners with a standardised, regulation-ready framework for building and distributing content.

Zoe Bird, Head of Masters at Yggdrasil, said the game combines bonus features and base game modifiers to maintain player engagement, and highlighted its theme and mechanics as likely to appeal to a broad player base.

Joe Chamberlain, Product Lead at Hungrybear, said the title offers a 12,000x maximum payout alongside its artwork and soundtrack, adding that the studio was pleased with the flexibility of the bonus round and the variety of base game modifiers.
