Light & Wonder launches Lightning Gorilla 2: Maximum Boltage slot
Light & Wonder's in-house studio Lightning Box has released a sequel to its Lightning Gorilla slot, adding a new bonus wheel mechanic and exclusive availability through Rush Street Interactive.
Light & Wonder, Inc. (NASDAQ: LNW) announced on 11 June 2025 the launch of Lightning Gorilla 2: Maximum Boltage, a sequel slot developed by its in-house studio Lightning Box.
The 3x5 jungle-themed title retains features from the original game while introducing the Maximum Boltage Wheel. This mechanic fills up during regular play and, once fully charged, triggers a spin that can award cash prizes, jackpots or the Lightning Respin feature. Wins on the wheel can lead to further spins.
Respin and jackpot mechanics
Landing six or more Lightning Bolt Scatters activates the Lightning Respin feature, during which players can collect prizes and jackpots. The spin counter resets to three each time a prize is won, and Colossal symbols can break apart into smaller symbols to increase the number of prizes visible on screen. If the Maximum Boltage Wheel stops on the Lightning Respin symbol, players enter the respin bonus directly.
The game includes four jackpot tiers, Mini, Minor, Major and Grand, with the top prize reaching up to 1000x the stake at maximum bet.
