Playson launches Thunder Coins XXL: Hold and Win slot

Playson, the digital entertainment supplier, has launched Thunder Coins XXL: Hold and Win, a new title in its established Hold and Win slot series, dated 29th May 2025.

The game is built on an expanded 5x3 grid with 15 paylines, featuring bells, fruit symbols, red sevens, golden coins and Thunder Bonus symbols. These Bonus symbols appear in both base and bonus play and feed into the Thunder Coin feature, which totals the values of all Bonus symbols landed on a spin.

Bonus mechanics

Landing at least one Bonus symbol on every reel unlocks the game’s bonus round, in which only Bonus and Thunder symbols appear. Thunder symbols land exclusively on reel two and stay sticky for the duration of the feature.

Four Jackpot icons also feature in the bonus game. The random appearance of red, green, blue and purple Lightning Coins can trigger jackpots worth up to 1,000x. A separate Pile of Gold feature can be triggered by Bonus symbols landing during the main game, offering an alternative route into the bonus round by awarding extra Bonus and Thunder symbols.

Where permitted by local regulation, players can also purchase a Super Bonus Game, which offers up to five Thunder Bonus symbols and increases the chances of larger wins, including the Grand Jackpot.

Company comment

Tamas Kusztos, chief commercial officer at Playson, said the release represents a step forward for one of the supplier’s most successful game families, combining expanded reels with strengthened bonus mechanics while retaining features already familiar to players of the Hold and Win format. He added that the release reflects the company’s focus on engaging gameplay designed to support both player enjoyment and operator performance.

Playson operates across 26 regulated markets with more than 200 partners worldwide, and holds licences including those from the UK Gambling Commission, ONJN, HGC, SGA, AGCO, GRA, MinCetur and SPA, alongside a recognition notice from the MGA. The company is headquartered in Malta and Slovakia.
