TPD brings GPS tracking and In-Running odds to Argentina's Palermo racecourse
Total Performance Data has gone live with its GPS tracking, In-Running odds and race graphics technology at Hipódromo de Palermo in Buenos Aires, its third South American installation.
Total Performance Data (TPD), which describes itself as the world’s leading provider of live horse racing data, has launched its GPS tracking, In-Running odds and live race graphics system at Palermo Racecourse in Buenos Aires. The go-live, announced on Thursday 12 June 2025, marks the company’s third deployment in South America, following earlier installations in Chile.
Palermo becomes the first racecourse in Argentina to adopt the technology, joining what TPD says is a roster of more than 150 racecourses worldwide using its systems, including Ascot in the UK, Churchill Downs in the US and Meydan in the UAE.
The system combines real-time positioning data with In-Running pricing and visual race graphics, aimed at improving the experience for racing fans, bettors and broadcasters, as well as offering new commercial and digital opportunities for the track itself.
Industry reaction
Adam Moore, Director of Racing Partnerships at TPD, said the installation reflected growing regional demand for high-quality tracking and performance data to support modern racing engagement, adding that the company was proud to support Palermo’s push for innovation and improved fan experience.
Will Duff Gordon, TPD’s CEO, said the partnership with Palermo would help highlight the performance of the horses racing there, noting that the track’s management had been supportive of TPD since the company’s early days.
Federico Spangenberg, Racing Manager at Hipódromo de Palermo, said the venue was proud to align with international horseracing standards by becoming the first Argentine racecourse to adopt the technology, adding that it would bring greater transparency and competitiveness to racing at Palermo for fans and industry professionals globally.
About the venues
