Yggdrasil pits leprechaun against zombie horde in Lucky Apocalypse GigaBlox

Yggdrasil released Lucky Apocalypse GigaBlox on 20th March 2025, a slot title that reworks the traditional St Patrick’s Day theme by casting a leprechaun against hordes of the undead.

The game uses a 6x5 matrix and combines a pays-anywhere structure with avalanching wins, alongside a progress ladder positioned above the reels. Successive wins move players up the ladder, which can unlock one of two extra features or trigger free spins.

Mechanics and features

Payouts are awarded for eight or more matching symbols, while a supersized GigaBlox symbol can appear randomly to improve the odds of a winning combination. The bonus round is triggered either by landing four or more free spins symbols in the base game or by filling the progress ladder.

Once in the bonus round, a guaranteed GigaBlox symbol lands on every spin. The progress bar is replaced by a multiplier counter that can climb as high as 50x with each successful avalanche. In select jurisdictions, players also have the option to buy their way directly into the free spins feature.

Tomasz Kowalik, Head of Games Production at Yggdrasil, said the studio wanted to move away from conventional St Patrick’s Day slot themes, opting instead for an action-driven, zombie-based narrative fronted by a leprechaun character. He added that pairing the GigaBlox mechanic with the pays-anywhere and progression ladder framework had been an exciting combination for the development team.
