Omnigame secures Danish B2B licence ahead of 2025 regulatory changes
Danish game studio and operator Omnigame has become one of the first companies to receive a B2B licence from the Danish Gambling Authority, ahead of new legislation taking effect in January 2025.
Omnigame has been granted a business-to-business licence by Denmark’s Spillemyndigheden, allowing the company to continue operating in its home market once new gambling legislation comes into force in January 2025.
The company was among the first operators to receive the permit, which is valid until 2029 and permits Omnigame to continue supplying its content in Denmark under the updated regulatory framework.
Home market focus
Omnigame exclusively powers the pip.dk brand in Denmark with games developed in-house, and the company says it holds a significant share of the Danish market along with a loyal player base. Founded in 2015 and based in Copenhagen, Omnigame operates a full iGaming ecosystem spanning game development, its own proprietary platform and its Pip.dk operator brand.
Peter Weinreich, Co-CEO at Omnigame, said the licence represented approval from the Danish Gambling Authority that the company had been preparing for since the new legislation was first announced. He said Denmark remained the firm’s home market and that securing the licence would help protect its position there while the company pursues further growth.
International ambitions
Alongside consolidating its position in Denmark, Omnigame has indicated plans to expand into other regulated markets. Weinreich said the domestic licence formed part of the company’s broader plans, with international expansion expected to begin in early 2025.
