Pragmatic Play Expands Sportsbook with Football Player Markets
Pragmatic Play has broadened its sportsbook offering by introducing football player-specific betting markets, giving operators and bettors more granular wagering options.
Pragmatic Play, a supplier to the iGaming industry, has added football player markets to its sportsbook product, the company announced on 27 November 2024.
The new markets allow operators to offer bets on individual player actions, including shots on goal, shots on target, fouls committed, and passes made, among other statistics. Pragmatic Play said the addition is aimed at giving operators a more comprehensive sportsbook product while widening the betting choices available to end users.
Growing Demand for Player-Specific Bets
According to the company, player-specific betting has become an increasingly popular segment within football wagering, alongside traditional match markets such as outright winners and totals.
The new markets build on Pragmatic Play’s existing sportsbook infrastructure, which spans the full betting lifecycle from event setup through to settlement. The platform includes custom market creation, dynamic odds pricing, and risk management tools across a large number of global sports competitions, drawing on data from official sources. The company also highlighted localisation and customisation features that let operators adapt the product to their own brand and market requirements.
Executive Comment
Gareth Crook, SVP of Sports at Pragmatic Play, said betting on individual player performance is becoming a significant growth area for sportsbooks, with users increasingly favouring these markets over conventional football betting options. He added that Pragmatic Play’s sports clients now have access to a full suite of player markets spanning multiple football competitions worldwide.
Pragmatic Play is headquartered in Gibraltar and supplies a multi-product portfolio, including slots, live casino, bingo, virtual sports and sportsbook content, to operators across regulated markets globally via a single API.
