Splash Tech secures MGA licence to enter real-money jackpots market

Splash Tech, a B2B provider known for its free-to-play (FTP) games, has obtained a B2B Critical Gaming Supply Licence from the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA). The approval, announced on 7 April 2025, allows the company to move beyond its existing FTP offering and introduce real-money jackpot products for operators in regulated markets.

Flexible jackpot engine

The new licence enables Splash Tech to deploy jackpot engines that can be layered onto existing casino games or sports betting products, regardless of vertical. Under the model, players contribute to jackpot prize pools on top of their standard wagers, with operators able to configure prize structures to suit different games or betting markets.

The company said the technology is designed to keep players engaged across a range of products, rather than being tied to a single game type, and can also be applied as an additional layer on sports betting.

Building on existing partnerships

Splash Tech already works with a number of established names in the iGaming and sports betting sectors, including Evoke, Kambi, GiG, Altenar and Bragg Gaming Group. The MGA licence is expected to support further expansion into regulated markets, building on the traction gained through its free-to-play products.

Adam Wilson, chief executive of Splash Tech, said the MGA licence marked a significant milestone in the company’s growth and that early results from real-money jackpots had already shown a notable impact on engagement. He added that the business was preparing to roll out the jackpot product more widely to its network of partners.

The move marks Splash Tech’s formal entry into real-money gaming, extending its remit from acquisition and retention tools into monetised jackpot mechanics for operators.
