The Mill Adventure (TMA), a Malta-based technology platform provider for the iGaming sector, has appointed Gerardo Prieto as its new Chief Information Security Officer, the company announced on 8 October 2025.
Prieto will lead a newly established security team at TMA, building out security frameworks designed to give operator partners stronger defences against cyber threats. He will also be responsible for shaping the company’s approach to regulatory compliance, incorporating data protection and privacy requirements into TMA’s broader security strategy.
Background
Prieto brings prior experience from roles including Director of Technology at Agora: The Worldwide Awards and Information Security Director at AI software firm Aifi, where he oversaw security strategy and execution.
TMA said the hire reflects its focus on supporting operators in regulated markets through technology aimed at guarding against security threats while managing compliance obligations across jurisdictions.
Company footprint
TMA currently operates in Germany, Austria, Malta and Sweden, and is live in Georgia via a local B2B partnership. The company has said it plans further launches in Portugal, Ontario in Canada, the Netherlands and Estonia.
The platform provider’s offering includes SmartLobbies, an AI-driven casino lobby management tool, and Betpool, a feature allowing players to pool funds for shared casino, live casino and sportsbook experiences. TMA also provides real-time business intelligence tools intended to help operators monitor and optimise performance across channels.
Commenting on the appointment, Prieto said he was pleased to join a company with ambitions to expand in regulated markets, adding that security depends on strong people and that he found that quality within TMA’s team.
Dario Arruda, co-founder and CEO of The Mill Adventure, said the appointment highlighted the company’s commitment to providing high levels of protection for its partners and their customers.
