Pragmatic Play adds Penalty Shootout Live! to virtual sports range
Pragmatic Play has launched Penalty Shootout Live!, a follow-up to its Penalty Shootout title, expanding its virtual sports offering.
Pragmatic Play, a content supplier to the iGaming sector, has added Penalty Shootout Live! to its Virtual Sports portfolio. The title builds on its earlier Penalty Shootout game, offering players an in-play betting experience modelled on real football penalty shootouts.
Using a goal-style betting interface, players can wager on specific outcomes such as goal placement, goalkeeper saves or shot direction ahead of each kick. New shootouts begin every three minutes, with betting windows on individual penalties refreshed every 15 seconds. Players can also place bets on upcoming matches further ahead in the schedule.
Format and production
The game is built in HTML5 for compatibility across desktop and mobile devices, and includes commentary alongside an interactive interface designed to increase engagement during matches.
Penalty Shootout Live! joins existing titles in Pragmatic Play’s Virtual Sports range, including Horse Racing and Greyhound Racing. The supplier’s virtual sports catalogue is available around the clock and uses real-time physics engines and 3D graphics.
Executive comment
Irina Cornides, chief operating officer at Pragmatic Play, said the new title features a match every three minutes, 25 betting spots per penalty and six penalties per match, describing it as a fast-paced addition to the company’s virtual sports lineup.
Pragmatic Play is headquartered in Gibraltar and supplies slots, live casino, bingo, virtual sports and sportsbook products to operators across regulated markets via a single API.
